The BMC announced this a day before ‘World Homeless Day’ was observed on October 10.
A helpline number for the homeless has also been launched by the BMC. Along with this, a survey will also be conducted to frame the policy for their empowerment.
On Saturday, a statement was issued in which Kiran Dighavkar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Planning Department said that “In MHADA Colony, 224 rooms have been arranged where 1,500 homeless can be accommodated.
