BEST will become the single bus transport undertaking in India to come up with NCMC (National Common Mobility Card). It will be launched on Monday by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray along with Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.
On Friday, BEST General Manager Lokesh Chandra, while announcing the news, said that the card will be valid and can be used for any travel purchase throughout India and not just in the red buses of the city.
He said “The card will have RuPay, which is valid at most NCMC – compliant establishments across the country. One can top it up online or with our bus conductor and this will be part of One Card One Nation.”
An official has said that once the NCMC card has been purchased from BEST, then the passengers can also purchase bus passes along with 72 options with the same card itself.
