Meanwhile, BCCI Jay Shah secretary also congratulated Team India and shared the news regarding the team bonus.

He also congratulated the players resilience and grit on the tour adding that they have inspired the entire nation with the performance Down Under.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated team India for their historic win.

Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant starred with a swashbuckling 89 not out as the injury-depleted visitors overhauled the 328-run target with three overs to go, winning by three wickets.

The last time a visiting team came out triumphant from the Brisbane Cricket Ground was back in November 1988 when the mighty West Indian outfit under the leadership of Viv Richards thrashed Allan Border’s team by 9 wickets. What makes the feat even more commendable is how the Indians fought multiple injuries and mental fatigue – due to the bio-bubble restrictions — to register a historic win.
