YOGA GURU Baba Ramdev has been on screens since the last week after he gave a statement that “Allopathy is a STUPID Science.”
The doctors practising the same and in general the overall Medical field are raging from within and the IMA of Uttarakhand has converted this rage into a Legal format.
Uttarakhand’s Indian Medical Association (IMA) has slapped a defamation notice of Rs 1,000 crore on the yoga guru. This is for his recent controversial remarks against allopathic medicine for treatment of Covid-19 cases.
The defamation notice by the association has mentioned that if Ramdev doesn’t post a video countering his statements on allopathic medicine, or tender a written apology within the next 15 days, then a sum of Rs 1000 crore will be demanded from him.
It was Dr. Ajay Khanna, the President of IMA Uttarakhand who write the letter and has sent it to the Chief Secretary on Monday evening regarding this defamation notice.
“In the letter, it is written that there is a lot of resentment among the IMA doctors against the statement of Baba Ramdev. The Union Health Minister has also sent a notice to Ramdev on the same stating that the statement is considered incorrect,” Khanna told ANI. Khanna added that strict action should be taken against Ramdev immediately.
Baba Ramdev, after the backlash had withdrawn the statements on allopathy medicine after the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan wrote a letter to him mentioning his remarks ‘inappropriate’ and also, disheartening for the doctors.
“We do not oppose modern medical science and allopathy. We believe that allopathy has shown immense progress in surgery and the lifesaving system and served humanity. My statement has been quoted as part of a WhatsApp message that I was reading during a meeting of volunteers. I am sorry if it has hurt anyone’s sentiment,” wrote Ramdev in his letter to the Union Health Minister in Hindi.
IMA had send a legal notice to the Patanjali founder for ‘defaming’ the scientific medicine on 22nd of May but Patanjali has denied of any such deed.
On Wednesday, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) reached this matter to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi asking him to take “action under the sedition charges” against Ramdev over his statements questioning the efficacy of allopathy medicines and doctors and to stop the “misinformation campaign on vaccination” against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) by Baba Ramdev.
Today, as reported by The Times of India, Baba Ramdev, was seen talking in the video, as below:
“Khair, arrest toh unka baap bhi nahi kar sakta Swami Ramdev ko (Anyway, even their father can’t arrest Swami Ramdev),” he is heard saying. He adds, “They keep creating such trends, like ‘Thug Ramdev’, Mahathug Ramdev’, ‘Giraftar Ramdev’ and so on. Let them do it. Our people have become accustomed to running such trends and our trends always reach the top.”
