Forest Officials said that the elephant ages 40 years and sustained serious burn injuries to its ears after people from a private resort in Masinagudi threw a lit cloth on it. It died while in medical care.
The elephant had entered a homestay in the buffer zone of Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and damaged a luxury car that was parked there. Deputy Director of Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (Buffer Zone) Srikanth told The News Minute, “The early autopsy details revealed that the death is due to the back injury. The elephant might have suffered injuries two months ago. It also had puss formation which had reached its lungs. The injury could have been caused due to infighting or piercing of tree branches.”
On the basis of the video, two persons, identified as Prasath and Raymond Dean, both natives to Mavanallah, were taken into custody. One more person, identified as Ricky Rayan, is also involved in the case.
Some emotions cannot be expressed into words. Gone from his sight, but not from his heart.
