With the largest vaccination drive in place in the country since the last 7 months, India is on its way to fight the coronavirus with more strength.

Amidst this, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director Dr Randeep Guleria said that India may have to adopt a Booster Covid Shot with the Generation two Covid vaccines.

Guleria said as India has been the first countries to detect the Delta variant of coronavirus and it has already taken over the world, boosters can help.

Guleria gave an approximate timeline of when the booster dose should be administered.

“You will probably need a booster dose till the end of this year. But that’s only once the population is vaccinated, then the next step will be to administer a booster dose,” Guleria said.
