Actor Prabhas, popularly known as Bahubali, has adopted the Khajipali Urban Forest block near Dundigal in Hyderabad. The Actor did it as a part of the ongoing Green India Challenge 2020 which is initiated by TRS Rajyasabha MP, J. Santosh.
Prabhas after adopting the 1650 acres, has donated 2 crores for the development of an Eco-Park which will be named in the memory of the Actor’s father, UVS Raju. He asked to develop an eco-park so that there will be an additional lung space in Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority limits. The forest is 20 kms away from the main city of Hyderabad.
Prabhas, along with Telangana forest minister Allola Indra Karan Reddy and Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar, laid the foundation stone for Urban Forest Park and planted a few saplings in the reserve forest region.
It is the Forest Department that will convert a few acres of the forest to the park. Khajipali Forest is known for its medicinal plants and hence, the rest of the forest will be under the conservation zone.
He was inspired by the Keera forest development initiative of his friend Santosh and after he participated in the Green India Challenge, he vowed to adopt 1000 acres and he adopted more than he promised. He has assured to donate more as the work progresses.
Prabhas said that his participation to help the society through Green India Challenge and adopting a reserve forest has given him immense satisfaction and that, after seeing him, there will be many others who would do the noble work making India Greener and better.
On the career front, Prabhas is busy with a Telugu romance Radhe Shyam and next year will begin shooting Om Raut’s Adupurush.
