A slight Decline in the Active Covid-19 cases in India

After the start of the pandemic in India, the total number of active cases has been on a continuous hike until the last 10 days. This is the first sustained decline in the total number of active cases in the country.

The last 24 hours saw a spike of 74,442 new COVID-19 cases leading to India’s coronavirus tally cross the 66-lakh mark on Monday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed.

66,23,816 is the total number of cases in the country currently with active cases at 9,34,427. The number of cured/ discharged/ mitigated cases stood at 55,86,704 and the death toll increased to 1,02,685 after 903 deaths occurred on Monday.

Maharashtra being at number one followed by Karnataka and Kerala are still the worst hit states by the Coronavirus. Andhra Pradesh and Delhi trail back in the top 5.

Maharashtra: The worst hit state by the pandemic but the state with most recoveries in comparison to its active cases.

Cured and Discharged – 11,49,603

Active Cases – 2,55,722

Deaths – 38,084

Karnataka and Kerala are next on the list with 1,15,593 and  84,579 Active cases respectively. The recoveries that the states have seen is higher than ever, 5,15,782 recovered in Karnataka and 1,44,471 in Kerala. The death toll of the two states 9,286 and 836 correspondingly.

Andhra Pradesh has cured 6,58,875 with 54,400 active cases and 5,981 deaths.

Delhi: The Capital of the Country stands in the Top 5 most affected and most cured Covid-19 patients.

Cured and Discharged – 2,60,350

Active Cases – 24,753

Deaths – 5,510

Considering all states of the country, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh have seen a decline in the active cases in the past few weeks. Active cases seem to have hit a plateau in key states such as Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

Karnataka, Kerala and Rajasthan have no stopping in the rise of the active cases yet.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)’s data shows that 7,99,82,394 samples have been tested up to October 4 for COVID-19 in the country.

82% of new fatalities were reported from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu,West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala.

Out of the 82%, 36% deaths have been recorded from Maharashtra and Karnataka till Sunday, said the ministry.
