From the history and political syllabus of classes 11 and 12, the CBSE has brought down topics about the Non-Aligned Movement, the Cold War, the rise of Islamic empires in Afro-Asian Territories, the industrial revolution and also the Mughal era manuscripts. The history syllabus of class 12 has also omitted the topic “The Mughal Court: Reconstructing Histories through Chronicles.”

This decision has got the teachers worried that the students will be unable to get the knowledge about the key historical developments.

In the same way, from the class 10 syllabus, the topic of “impact of globalisation on agriculture” from the ‘Food Security’ chapter has been taken down. Moreover, the CBSE has also taken down the course topics about ‘democracy and diversity.’

It is to ‘rationalise the syllabus’ due to which the CBSE has taken down certain chapters and topics.
