The city has been witnessing a slight decrease in the daily Covid cases for which the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has lightened Covid restrictions and it plans to reopen Mumbai by the end of February. The city, on Monday, reported 356 new Covid cases which were the lowest daily rise since December 21, 2021.
Mumbai Mayor, Kishori Pednekar has said that the BMC administration was reviewing the situation and full relaxation would be given by February-end. She also said that Mumbai is very close to 100% vaccination with both doses among the ones above 18 years.
“Unlocking is needed now. The only thing is people should take all precautions”, said the Mayor.
