On late Tuesday, it was announced by CM Eknath Shinde that a 5-year permit has been given to the mandals to set up pandals along with which loudspeakers can also be used till 12 midnight throughout the 5-days of Ganesh Utsav.
CM Shinde said “Mandals can use loudspeakers for five days till midnight and on the immersion procession day. The district collector must put up a file to me to extend this permission. I am directing the Pune police officers, the fire brigade and the Pune Municipal Corporation to issue a five-year license to the mandals for putting up pandals for the festival as permitted. The licenses can be issued through the one-window system operated by the police and the other authorities.”
