120 more cops from Mumbai Police have now been tested positive for Coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours and one cop has succumbed to the infection. Now, active cases in the police department stand at 643.
Similarly, people from other essential services doctors, railway staff, BMC bus employees are also being tested positive in large numbers.
This is mainly because of the Omicron wave that has hit the city of Mumbai. As per data total COVID-19 cases in India is 35,875,790, the number of deaths is 484,213 and the total number of recovery is 34,570,131.
Meanwhile, 232 Pune police personnel have contracted the infection here since January 3 this year, an official said on Monday.
Only two police personnel are currently admitted in hospital, while the remaining are in home isolation, the official said.
