Two people were arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Ganesh Maniya Chavan had been pestering the main accused, Santosh Chavan, to return the Rs2 lakh he had borrowed a few months ago.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday around 10.45pm, Ganesh Chavan and his friends were standing near a private hospital near Davdi Road when Santosh came with his six aides in an autorickshaw. They stabbed and attacked Ganesh with weapons.<\/p>\n<p>Ganesh\u2019s friends took him to the AIMS Hospital in Dombivli where he was declared brought dead on arrival.<\/p>\n<p>During the investigation, the Manpada police learnt that Ganesh and Santosh knew each other. \u201cFew months ago, Ganesh pawned his sister\u2019s gold ornaments at a jeweller\u2019s shop and loaned Santosh Rs2 lakh as he needed the money,\u201d said GS Randive, senior police inspector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen he asked for his money back, Santosh refused. Ganesh kept pestering him for the money so Santosh plotted the murder. We have arrested two people &#8212; Ramesh Pawar, 31, and Jamil Shaikh, 19,\u201d added Randive.<\/p>\n<p>A case has been registered at Manpada police station under sections 302, 143, 147, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Arms Act.<!--:--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 36-year-old contractor from Dombivli in Mumbai was killed by a group of seven people on Saturday night.
