Escalating his war of words with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent DNA comment, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said he is going to launch a “shabdwapsi” or “Take Back Your Words” campaign saying despite repeated pleas the PM has not taken back his “derogatory remarks”.<\/p>\n

The political war of words started when PM Modi launched a scathing attack on leaders of the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) combine last month in a rally in Muzaffarpur as he rolled out the NDA’s campaign for assembly polls in Bihar, singling out Kumar for criticism.<\/p>\n

Modi had said Kumar broke up with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for personal gain, adding that there is something wrong with Kumar’s “political DNA”<\/span><\/strong><\/a> that led the JD(U) leader to ditch friends who worked with him.<\/p>\n

Kumar had then had “urged” the PM in an open letter, to take back the comments he made about his “political DNA”. He had asked Modi to withdraw remarks on his DNA to assuage the ‘hurt’ sentiments of the people of Bihar.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the PM again attacked the party hitting out at the ‘opportunistic’ alliance of the RJD and JD(U), raising the bogey of ‘jungle raj’<\/span><\/strong><\/a> to underline why people should vote for the BJP-led NDA at his second rally in the state.<\/p>\n

“This election in Bihar is going to be a festival of getting rid of jungle raj,” Modi had said.<\/p>\n

He targeted Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad, saying their stints in Bihar had set back the development of Bihar. “Jungle raj part 2 will ruin everything,” Modi said.<\/p>\n

Both Prasad and Kumar took to Twitter to counter the Prime Minister on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Replying to Modi’s comments on Monday Kumar said, “The stubbornness of Modiji in not retracting his DNA statement as well as his comments in yesterday’s Gaya rally calling Bihar a Bimaru state and its people unfortunate is regrettable.”<\/p>\n

“We believe that those who have insulted Bihar and its people will be given an apt reply by them.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
