{"id":20125,"date":"2016-08-11T07:19:56","date_gmt":"2016-08-11T07:19:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/indianewsnet.com\/?p=20125"},"modified":"2016-08-11T07:19:56","modified_gmt":"2016-08-11T07:19:56","slug":"english-mahad-tragedy-navy-divers-find-wreckage-of-bus-near-collapsed-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indianewsnet.com\/marathi\/?p=20125","title":{"rendered":"<!--:en-->Mahad tragedy: Navy divers find wreckage of bus near collapsed bridge<!--:-->"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--:en-->ndian Navy divers have found wreckage of a state transport bus that was washed away on August 3 when a bridge on Savitri river in Mahad <span class=\"st_readmore_sp\">collapsed <\/span>due to floods, an official said here on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Two state buses were missing after the Mahad bridge collapsed on August 3.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter a long search and working for 12-14 hours daily for the last eight days, naval teams have located two wreckages of a bus submerged in the waters at Mahad,\u201d a defence spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"inarticle_wrapper_div\"><\/div>\n<p>The wreckages were fully submerged in about 4-6 metres of water and located around 170-200 metres away from the collapsed bridge site on the busy Mumbai-Goa Highway.<\/p>\n<p>The bridge collapse resulted in at least another four-five private vehicles being washed away in the heavy rains and floods, claiming an estimated 42 lives.<\/p>\n<p>Considered to be one of the worst road tragedies in the state, rescuers have managed to recover only 26 bodies so far, officials said.<!--:--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ndian Navy divers have found wreckage of a state transport bus that was washed away on August 3 when a bridge on Savitri river in Mahad collapsed due to floods, an official said here on Thursday.
